| WorkFlow Plus |
| |
|
| The WorkFlow
Plus application is an add-on to Microsoft CRM. WorkFlow
Plus extends the Workflow feature of the Microsoft CRM
application. |
|
|
| |
| Basically WorkFlow Plus is a web application
that has to be installed on a MSCRM server computer. The program
works on a MSCRM Account or Contact record. To launch
WorkFlow Plus,
you have to make an entry in the isv.config file so that the
application is integrated into the MSCRM's Account or Contact record
and launched from the left side menu of a Account or Contact.
The three main tasks that this program accomplishes are |
| |
 |
Update field values |
 |
Create a activity record |
 |
Execute a Worklow rule |
|
| |
Note
: Workflow rule is MSCRM's own rules defined at the Workflow
Manager |
| |
| Form Process |
| |
The Form process updates CRM Contact
and Account fields depending on from where WorkFlow-Plus is
called. A Form screen has tabs, each tab updates one or more
database fields. There are 2 types of screens that the Form
screen can bring up - ObjInfo, ObjView |
| |
ObjInfo screen contains a list of Radios
or checkboxes, the selections made in the list update a single
database field. |
| |
ObjView screen contains a list of one
or more textboxes, each textbox updates a database field.
|
| |
One can go back and forth
between Tabs, adding or editing answers because no selections
are posted to MSCRM until OK is clicked. When OK is clicked
all the selected data will be posted to CRM fields at once.
|
| |
| Activity Process |
| |
| This process allows the
user to create activity records for the Contact or Account
from where the WorkFlow Plus program is launched. |
| |
| WorkFlow Process |
| |
The WorkFlow Plus process
helps in running MSCRM’s Workflow Rules. The Administrator
has to define the MSCRM Workflow rules in the Workflow Manager
at the MSCRM Server. (Start->Programs->Microsoft CRM->Workflow
Manager) These rules can be event based and non-event based
or manual. WorkFlow Plus launches only 'Manual' and 'Activated'
Workflow rules. |
| |
Note
: The event-based
rules are launched within CRM when a particular event is triggered.
|
| |
This process pops up
a screen with the list of the defined Workflow Rules. Select
the Rule that has to run, click OK. The selected rule
(only manual type) will run immediately. |
